Perhaps the biggest decision in choosing a path - Do you want to do an HPL (High Performance Leadership project) - it is required in 3 paths (EC, IP, PI)
There are 11 paths in Pathways - each with 14 projects and between 15-19 speeches required.
11 * 14 = 154 projects - but there are only 63 different Pathways projects in the initial rollout. There is a lot of overlap, and Level 3/4/5 electives are basically the same for all paths ... unless a specific elective in one path is required in another path (e.g. HPL)
For each path 10 projects are required and 4 elective projects are needed. How different are the required projects among the paths?
- Level 1 is identical for all 11 paths: 3 projects/4 speeches plus role as evaluator - Level 2 - 3 projects/3 speeches - Introduction to Toastmasters mentoring plus 2 others minor difference we ignore for this analysis - Level 3 - 1 unique required project + 2 electives - Level 4 - 1 unique required project + 1 electives - Level 5 - 1 unique required project + 1 elective + final project: "reflect on your Path"
Thus for practical purposes paths vary by 3 projects out of 14. It could be 4 or 5 depending on level 2) 3/14 = just over 20 % difference between paths or nearly 8 % the same.
NOTE: a key decision point for many is the HPL - High Performance Leadership project. Many new members joining to gain confidence speaking do not care to do this project . I recommend they avoid IP, PI and EC paths where it is required.
Thus on your 2nd and subsequent paths you may gain access to only 3-4 new projects from what you had access to and could do for credit in your previous path.

Your math doesn't add up to me.
There are 13 available electives in Level 3. Even if you assume that every required project in one path is an elective in others, that means you could complete four separate paths before you "had to" repeat any Level 3 projects.

Yes, but one could repeat the same electives each path, that is my point.
And on the first path - one can study all 13 electives (although not do them for credit)

I recommend they avoid IP, PI and LD paths where it is required. I believe you meant to specify "EC" instead of "LD". Yes?

Yes, amazes me that HPL is not included in LD
