Toastmasters had a 10-15 speech manual covering the basic skills that millions of members used: its most recent version is the CC Competent Communicator. It is/was well loved and itched to visitors and prospects.
TI has shown that not everything worthwhile fits into a 5 level/14-19 speech "path" Hence, we also have the "Pathways Mentoring Program" a 4 program special program.
Many of the skills and topics of the CC manual exist in Level 1 required projects and in Level 3 electives.
TI would do well to add just a couple more projects to BaseCamp and allow members to pursue "Public Speaking Skills" program - outside of paths - just like Pathways Mentoring.
This might appeal to the many new members joining TI club for what so many of us joined to get out of the CC \ What do you think?

Do you suggest using the existing projects, creating new ones, or both?

Hmm...my inclination is to look at the Presentation Mastery path and see if I can think of any tweaks or improvements. Is this approach in line with your thinking?
Candidate projects for "Speaking Skills" path ---------------------------------------------
Level 1: Ice Breaker Evaluation and Feedback Researching and Presenting
Level 2: Understanding Your Communication Style
Level 3: Persuasive Speaking Connect with Your Audience Creating Effective Visual Aids Using Presentation Software Effective Body Language Understanding Vocal Variety Using Descriptive Language Inspire Your Audience
Level 4: Managing a Difficult Audience Question-and-Answer Session
Level 5: Prepare to Speak Professio nally
Perhaps create one or more of:
Select an Engaging Topic Capture attention with the Opening Close with Impact

yes, it is more like get 10 projects from level and 3 ( level 2 does not build speaking skills so much) in a special non-path program
Level 5 20 minutes speech too much, same with longer projects in level 4- many members like 10 5-8 minute speeches

How 'bout the path include additional information about ways to structure a speech?

I believe a project could involve doing table topics across 5 meetings each topic using a different structure...

Hmm...I certainly like the idea of making more use of table topics.
What structures did you have in mind?
-PREP = Point Reason Example Point (same one again) -- btw, Aanchal taught me this one. -Problem/Solution -3 Reasons: "I support X for 3 reasons..." then make the reasons up as you go along. --I am not sure this structure helps one develop a 5-7 minute speech. But then again, you call this path "Speaking Skills" not "5-7 Minute Speech Skills".

Yes, my idea is that the project is 4-5 meetings as Topics Speaker 2 minutes using different techniques.. (there are more than a dozen easily) e.g chronological
