The popup windows often are initialized too small for users to see the "<"and ">" navigation arrows
This leads o some members having frustration in basic navigation in Basecamp projects.
Proposals include: - Eliminate need for pop-ups - allow full web browser tab operation - improve design of navigation arrows and other features to improve user experience

If I remember correctly from my days as a Pathways Guide, the decision to make the project windows popups - and to make them small initially - was a deliberate design choice. They were finding during the development process that when they made the windows full-screen, people didn't realize the original window was still available. With the popups, you know what's happened when you start the project.
The layout could probably be improved. What suggestions do you have?

A small reminder bar when window is not maximized that says "expand window if needed to see ..."

This has created a great deal of confusion. The first time I finished my ice breaker I couldn't figure out how to advance because I did not maximize the popup and did not see the cleverly hidden "submit" button.
It think it is a great idea for a reminder bar or another object to let the user know the status and availability other window.

The navigation within a window could be improved, there are so many different ways... buttons, more..., scrolling, select list
members I watch often miss parts of material...
The best solution would be some form of indicator on each window that says "More to view" that changes to "you have viewed all" when all hidden/clickable material has been revealed ...
Another is to add a "maximize window" button/link on all when it detects that all scrolling pieces are not displayed 9can be done in JavaScript)
